History
An historic
gathering was held in Guelph, Ontario in June 1992 when 50 evangelists
from across Canada met to confer together on the vital ministry
of evangelism to which they had each been called. From this meeting
was formed a society of 5. From that meeting came the following
statement, known as the Guelph Affirmation:
"We
at the first National Conference of the Fellowship of Canadian Evangelists,
at Guelph, Ontario affirm the unique calling and valid role of the
in assisting the Church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to
all people. We commit ourselves to work together for this purpose
to the Glory of God. June 11, 1992"
